Some of the richest and most powerful people in the world have links to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. This list has grown longer since the US government released millions of new files from its investigation into the dishonored financier.
There is no suggestion that being in the papers means someone did something wrong. A lot of people who have been in earlier releases have denied doing anything wrong with Epstein.
These are some of the people who were talked about in the most recent release.
Elon Musk

There are emails between Epstein and tech billionaire Elon Musk about trip plans that Epstein seemed to be making, even though Musk has said he has never been to Epstein’s private island.
“What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?” Musk asked in an email in November 2012.
In a different letter from December of the same year, he said, “I really want to hit the party scene in St. Barts or elsewhere and let loose.” He also said that a “peaceful island experience” is the last thing he wants.
Musk replied in an X post in January that he knew the emails could be used to “smear my name,” but he was more worried about the prosecution of “those who committed serious crimes with Epstein.”
Bill Gates

It looks like Epstein wrote two emails from July 18, 2013, but it’s not clear if they are real or if they were ever sent to Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft.
One email looks like it came from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and says they had to get medicine for Gates “to deal with the consequences of having sex with Russian girls.”
In an interview with NPR, his ex-wife Melinda said that the papers’ release made her think of the problems they had as a couple.
” I’m able to take my own sadness and look at those young girls and say, my God, how did that happen to those girls?” she said.
” I’ve been able to move on with my life, and I hope you can too”
Response: A Gates spokesperson told the BBC, “These claims—from a proven, angry liar—are completely ridiculous and false.”
Donald J. Trump

There are many references to the US president in the newly released files. One of them is a list that the FBI made last year of accusations made against Trump by people who called its national Threat Operation Center tip line.
A lot of these stories seem to be based on tips the agency got that weren’t confirmed and weren’t backed up by proof.
There are many claims of sexual abuse against Trump, Epstein, and other well-known people on the list.
Answer: Trump has always denied doing anything wrong with Epstein, saying that he stopped talking to him decades ago, and Epstein’s victims have not accused him of any crimes.
Andrew Windsor Mountbatten
The new Epstein files release also has pictures that seem to show Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor kneeling on all fours over a woman who is lying on the ground.
From two of the pictures, it looks like the ex-prince is touching the fully dressed, unknown person on the stomach. He is looking straight at the camera in another picture.
The pictures don’t have any background information, and it’s not clear when or where they were taken.
Sir Richard Branson
There are a lot of files with Richard Branson’s name on them.
The two talked in 2013 and Epstein thanked Branson for his kindness and PR advice. Branson replied that it was “really nice” to see him and said, “Anytime you’re in the area would love to see you. As long as you bring your harem!”
Virgin Group has made it clear that “harem” meant three adults on Epstein’s team.
Responding to the BBC, Virgin Group said that Branson had only met Epstein “a few times more than twelve years ago, and only in business or group settings, such as a charity tennis event.”
The statement also said, “When Epstein offered to give money to charity, the Bransons asked their team to do their research before accepting the money, which led to the discovery of serious allegations.”
Because of what the due diligence found, Virgin Unite did not accept the gift, and Richard and Joan chose not to meet or talk to Epstein again. If they had all the facts and information, they would not have talked to each other at all. Richard thinks Epstein’s actions were horrible and supports his victims’ right to get justice.
Sarah Ferguson
Sarah Ferguson, who goes by the name Fergie and is ex-wife of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, is also named in several emails, including one while Epstein was still under house arrest.
“I think Fergie can now say, I am not a pedo,” wrote someone with an email address that is thought to belong to Epstein.”
Someone asked Epstein to meet them for a “quick cup of tea” in another email from April 2009, which said, “My dear spectacular and special friend Jeffrey.” I’m so proud of you because you’re a hero.
In answer, the emails don’t show any wrongdoing. The BBC has asked Ferguson for a response.
The Lord Mandelson
Bank records made public in the files show that Epstein sent $75,000 (₤55,000) to accounts linked to Lord Mandelson. These accounts included those of his partner Reinaldo Avila da Silva.
The Metropolitan Police have started a criminal investigation into Lord Mandelson because it was said that he gave Epstein knowledge that was important to the market.
In 2009, a year after Epstein admitted to soliciting a minor’s prostitution, da Silva asked Epstein for “anything you can help me with” in an email.
Epstein answered, “I will send the loan amount right away.”
In a different email conversation, Epstein seems to have set up a place for Mandelson to stay at one of his New York apartments. Epstein wrote, “thrilled to host and sad I’m not there.”
Lord Mandelson has said he will resign from the House of Lords. On Sunday, he said again that he felt bad for “ever having known Epstein” and for keeping in touch with him after Epstein was found guilty. He told the BBC that he “was never culpable or complicit in (Epstein’s) crimes.” Like everyone else, I found out the real truth about him after he died. He hasn’t responded to the claims that he leaked documents, but BBC understands that he says he didn’t do anything illegal or selfish. He says he asked Epstein for advice because it was in the national interest during the 2008 global financial crisis.
Stephen Breynon
The files also have a lot of messages that look like they were sent between the late convicted sex offender and Steve Bannon, who used to be one of Trump’s top aides.
Most of the texts were sent in 2018 and 2019 after Bannon left his job in the first Trump White House. This was because he was making a movie about Epstein before he died.
He told Epstein, “First we need to push back on the lies” and “rebuild your image as philanthropist” in a text message conversation about how to change the story about his past crimes.
Response: Bannon, who hasn’t been charged with any crimes, didn’t answer when the BBC asked him for comment.
Ivo Miroslav Lajčák
A text message exchange in October 2018 between Miroslav Lajčák (then Slovakia’s foreign minister) and Epstein seemed to show that the two were talking about girls and negotiations.
Epstein sent a picture that can’t be seen in the record. Lajčák replied, “Why don’t you invite me to these games?” I’d choose the “MI” girl.
He replies with a text message, “Who wouldn’t? You can have them both; I’m not possessive.” They also had sisters.
Lajčák quit his job as Slovakia’s national security advisor after the new documents about Epstein were made public. He is not being charged with any crimes.
Howard Lutnick
According to letters in the most recent release of the Epstein files, US Commerce Department Secretary Howard Lutnick took his family to visit Jeffrey Epstein’s private island in 2012. This goes against earlier claims that he had cut ties with Epstein years before.
In a December 2012 email, Allison Lutnick, Epstein’s assistant, and she wrote, “We are looking forward to visiting you” and “We would love to join you for lunch.” It looked like the email was written on the day before the visit.
During congressional testimony in February 2026, Lutnick admitted the visit publicly for the first time, saying he spent about an hour on the island, along with his wife, four children, and their nannies. He previously said he cut off contact with Epstein in 2005.
It was a vacation for Lutnick in the area, and he said that he had “barely anything to do with” Epstein in the years after the visit. He also said that he had another one-hour meeting with Epstein a year and a half after the island visit.
It was reported by the BBC that the commerce department said, “Secretary Lutnick had limited interactions with Mr. Epstein in the presence of his wife and has never been accused of wrongdoing.”
John Summers
Larry Summers, who was treasury secretary under US President Bill Clinton and president of Harvard University, is also in the new papers. There are references to meetings and dinners between Summers and Epstein.
Summers and Epstein made fun of Trump and said bad things about him in emails from 2017 during his first term.
He told Summers in an email, “Your world does not understand how dumb he really is.”
Response: When Summers’ name was found in a group of Epstein files that came out in November, he said he was “fully responsible for my misguided decision to continue communicating with Mr. Epstein” and quit several jobs, including his position on the advisory board of OpenAI.
Steve Tisch
In the papers that were made public, Steve Tisch, co-owner of the New York Giants, is seen asking about a woman he met at Epstein’s house.
Tisch asked the woman in one email whether she was a worker or a “civilian.”
Epstein tells Tisch he has a “present” for him and says of a woman he will introduce Tisch to her that she is “tahitian, speaks mostly French, exotic.”
Stern and Tisch “had a brief association,” according to a statement to CNN. Tisch also said that he “did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island.”
Brett Ratner
In the newly shared files, the director of a new documentary about First Lady Melania Trump, which they worked on together, is shown hugging a young woman.
Brett Ratner, who directed the Rush Hour movies and X-Men: The Last Stand, is seen sitting on a couch with Epstein and two women whose names have been changed.
According to the files, there is no evidence of wrongdoing. The BBC has asked Ratner’s agent for comment. He told Fox News that he had only met Epstein once and that the woman he was seen hugging was his fiancée at the time.
John Attia
The latest papers release shows that Peter Attia, an anti-aging expert and CBS News contributor, sent Epstein a number of emails, some of which were rude.
In the emails, he said that his friendship with Epstein was something he could talk about in public. They also talked about the 2018 Miami Herald story that named some of Epstein’s victims.
Emails show that he also made jokes with Epstein about the female body and sex acts.
In a statement on X on February 2, Attia denied that he was “involved in any criminal activity.” He also said, “I was never on his plane, never on his island, and never present at any sex parties.”
John Casey Wasserman
The head of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games sent Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s prison friend, flirty emails.
Between 2003 and 2004, Casey Wasserman wrote to Maxwell: “I think of you all the time… What do I need to do to see you dressed in tight leather?”
Maxwell is in jail right now serving a 20-year sentence for bringing in and trafficking teenage girls so that Epstein, a dishonest businessman, could sexually abuse them.
Answer: Wasserman said in a statement, “I deeply regret writing to Ghislaine Maxwell more than twenty years ago, before her horrible crimes were made public.”
Sergey Brin
Records made public on Friday show that Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google and one of the richest men in the world, visited Epstein’s private island and planned to eat at Epstein’s home in New York City.
Brin also wrote to Ghislaine Maxwell, who said, “Dinners at Jeffrey’s are always happily casual and relaxed” and “Look forward to seeing you” in April 2003.
Google has been asked to speak by the BBC. The emails don’t seem to point to any wrongdoing.
Ehud Barak
The new Epstein papers include references to Ehud Barak, who used to be prime minister of Israel. This shows that the two men corresponded several times after Epstein was found guilty of sex crimes in Florida in 2008.
In one conversation, it is shown that Barak plans to stay at Epstein’s home in New York City in 2017.
Barak admitted that he did have regular contacts with Epstein, but he said that he never saw or took part in any inappropriate behavior or parties.
How Noam Chomsky
The famous linguist Noam Chomsky was in both sets of the Epstein files, and the most recent set of files shows that Chomsky gave Epstein advice about how to deal with the media’s coverage of the sex trafficking claims against him.
In emails from February 2019, the disgraced financier asked Chomsky if he should “defend myself” or “try to ignore”.
“The horrible way” Epstein was treated and the “hysteria that has developed about abuse of women” are both talked about in what seems to be Chomsky’s response.
” It’s painful to say, but I think the best way to proceed is to ignore it,” the email said.
Valéria Chomsky, Noam’s wife and spokesperson, said in a statement, “Epstein created a manipulative narrative about his case, which Noam, in good faith, believed in.”
” It is now clear that it was all orchestrated, having as, at least, one of Epstein’s intentions to try to have someone like Noam repairing Epstein’s reputation by association,” she said.
” Noam’s criticism was never directed at the women’s movement; on the contrary, he has always supported gender equity and women’s rights.”
Brad Karp
Brad Karp, the chairman of the well-known law company Paul Weiss, quit after new documents revealed dozens of emails that he and Epstein may have sent and received. In one of the emails, Karp is said to have talked about Epstein’s previous plea deal for sex trafficking charges.
A person named Brad Karp wrote in an email in March 2019, four months before Epstein was arrested, “The draft motion is in great shape.”
Bloomberg said that this conversation was about Epstein’s efforts to protect the plea deal he made with prosecutors in 2008. This deal kept him from facing federal charges that could have put him in jail for life. However, there is no evidence in the emails that they were connected to the plea deal.
Response: Karp quit his job on Wednesday and said in a company statement, “Recent reporting has created a distraction and has placed focus on me that is not in the best interests of the firm.” The statement did not mention the Epstein files, and Karp has not said anything else since. The BBC has asked Paul Weiss for more information.
Big Bill Clinton
When the Justice Department released Epstein papers for the first time in December, they included several pictures of former US President Bill Clinton. One showed him swimming in a pool, and another showed him lying on his back with his hands behind his head in what looks like a hot tub.
Several times in the 1990s and early 2000s, before Epstein was first caught, Clinton was seen with Epstein.
Answer: In December, Angel Ureña, a spokesman for Clinton, said on social media that the photos revealed by the Department of Justice (DoJ) were decades old. “They can release as many grainy 20-plus year-old photos as they want, but this isn’t about Bill Clinton,” he said. “Never was, never will be,” he said.
There are two kinds of people here. The first group didn’t know anything about Epstein’s crimes and cut him off before they were found out. The second group kept in touch with him after that. He said, “We’re in the first.”
Clinton said on social media that he had told Congress everything he knows.
I have asked that all of the Epstein files be made public. I have given a sworn statement of what I know,” he said. “And just this week, I’ve agreed to appear in person before the committee.”
Clinton has asked for the meeting to be open to the public and will appear before the House Oversight Committee later this month.
Dr. Deepak Chopra
The files seem to show that Epstein and the self-help author Deepak Chopra talked to each other after Epstein was convicted of soliciting sex from children in 2008.
In a February 2017 email, Chopra apparently asks Epstein to come to Israel with him and an unnamed group.
“Come to Israel with us,” Chopra says. “Take it easy and have fun with cool people.” If you want, you can use a fake name. Bring your girls. It will be fun to have you. “Love”
In another apparent conversation a month later, the pair talk about God and cells of the human body before Chopra says: “Cells are human constructs. Not at all! The universe is something people made up. “Cute girls know when they’re making noise.”
After some time, Chopra says, “God is a construct.” There really are cute girls.
He also asks the supporter of alternative treatment, “Did you find me a cute Israeli?””
Responding to these emails, Chopra wrote an online statement in which he said he was “deeply saddened by the suffering of the victims in this case” and denied having any part in “any criminal or exploitative conduct.”
“The contact I had was limited and had nothing to do with abusive behavior.” Some old email conversations have come to light that show bad tone judgment. It’s okay for them to read that way now, since everyone knew what was going on at the time. My main goal is still to back efforts that protect and help survivors, hold people accountable, and stop abuse.
When Chopra dealt with Epstein, the BBC asked him if he knew anything was wrong.
A. Les Wexner
The retail billionaire, who is 88 years old, is named in several files. He was friends with Epstein for a long time.
The former CEO of Victoria’s Secret is named as a possible “co-conspirator” in an FBI document. However, just because someone is named in a document doesn’t mean they did anything wrong.
Wexner has said in the past that Epstein stole millions of dollars from him while he was his business adviser.
The lawyers for Wexner told the BBC, “In 2019, the Assistant US Attorney told Mr. Wexner’s legal counsel that Mr. Wexner was being seen as a source of information about Epstein and was not at all a target.”
” Mr Wexner co-operated fully by providing background information on Epstein and was never contacted again.”
